Last Week of January | FP Uniformz reflection on the first month of 2020

Flying through January we zip into the second month of the year at lightning pace, we look back on the first month of this decade fondly, 2020 has had a very busy start for us where we have hit the ground running into the New Year. The team whilst implementing new procedures to allow us to produce more efficiently, quote quicker and supply easier have been inundated with orders from all angles.

Underway on the first week back, we cleared the cobwebs, this was forced upon us very quickly as we had so many orders from over the festive period and enquiries we had to work double-time to make sure we got back to everyone. Teamwear orders from Kelso Hockey Club, Kelso Football club and workwear orders from The Inn Collection group being the bulk of the early week's orders. Meaning we had high volumes of orders from brands such as Premier, Hummel and Chadwick Textiles and of course our one and only thread supplier Madeira. Over the years we have tested many different threads and consumables such as backings, needles and bobbins but after all the trials and testing we finally settled on Madeira. They provide only the highest of quality so although a little pricier we can be confident that the product we are supplying is really finest around.

Coffee fuelled and rolling on with the month our embroidery machines aren’t the only machines that have been running nonstop our Direct to Garment (DTG) printing department has also been in high demand, using Amaya UK for our Dupont inks enables us to produce vivid colours and soft ‘hand’ prints which have excellent resistance to washing whilst being environmentally friendly. Which makes us in high demand for personalised t-shirts and personalised hoodies but it isn’t just garments  we can DTG print we also do cotton shopper bags and many other accessories. Our DTG is perfect for small run fully customised attire, as you can see with our hoodie job below –

Knowing what the customer wants and understanding what it takes to deliver is something we specialise in and this was a completely bespoke design we put together for a customer who came to us with an idea and a dream, designed by our in house designer from only being given an image and team names he came up with this striking design. Printed on an Awdis Epic Print Hoodie - JH011 designed specifically for this kind of job with its larger print area on the front.

But the bulk of this months’ machine time was however consumed by the start of the Holiday Park season which has become a staple of our year on year business. Producing tens of thousands of garments printed and embroidered for Haven Holidays, Butlins, Pontins and all the Bridge Leisure parks. Supplying such prestigious names like this in the UK means we need to supply only the prestige brands which is why we turn to the people we can trust – Regatta, Premier, Result Clothing, Uneek Clothing, Portwest to name but a few. With a lot of the UK parks being seasonal due to the unpredictable weather we get here in this country their staff are seasonal too meaning that from the point they are hired to their start date it may only be three to four days. This is why we are trusted to be their supplier because they know when push comes to shove and they need fast turnarounds FP Uniformz are the company to rely on. We always go that extra mile to kit our clients because we care.

Ending this month how we started is what made January especially satisfying taking on new Kit contract with Chirnside Junior Football Club and supplying them with some spectacular Joma Teamsport strips for their upcoming season. They are also one of the first clubs to benefit from our new free “Kit Reveal” promotion videos where we put together a production video of the job from start to finish for teams to announce on their social media in conjunction with ourselves. Last but not least another standout job from the final week of the month was the Scottish Borders Seniors Strips (SBS) which were Hummel Teamsport Hybrid Match jerseys in Red and Black with a new 2020 version of their logo to match. The sponsor for their strips was drawn from their sponsor raffle they held in which they donated £500 to winning charity which happened to be Macmillan Cancer and finished off these kits in style. Watch out on social media in the coming weeks for their kit reveal video which has been kept under wraps until its premier date.
